Originally established in 1926, Meijo University has continued to be a source of the capable talent active in the Chubu region (Central Japan) which is known as the center of Japan's manufacturing industry.
As one of the foremost comprehensive universities in this region, Meijo University currently comprises nine faculties with twenty-three departments and graduate schools in a wide range of academic fields spanning the humanities and physical sciences with total students of more than fifteen thousand. Starting from 2018 Fall Semester, Meijo University started Japanese Studies Program in English to be offered mainly for international exchange students to cover a broad range of student’s interest including not only by lectures but also by providing occasions to visit and experience historical and cultural venues and events.
All three campuses and the dormitory for international students are in excellent and convenient locations in Nagoya City. International students will be supported by the Office of International affairs and Student Assistants who are volunteer students willing to help from picking up international students at the airport to Japanese language conversation practice and day-to-day living. International students will surely be in the ideal environment to expand their frontier.
