Instruction Facilities and Other Supports The International Affairs Office counts on a Mobility office, which is in charge of receiving international students and gives them all the support needed for their enroll at UFRO. During their stay at UFRO, students attend a week of induction, where they are informed of all the necessary procedures before the beginning of the semester. In addition, a "City Tour" is held throughout the city. During these days foreign students get to know each other and can generate support networks with local students. Universidad de La Frontera, belongs to a network with the other universities of Temuco, called TemucoUniverciudad. This network encourages all foreign students in the region to get to know each other and organizes jointed activities and courses. Students can also access to support programs, such as tutorials, in case of having any difficulty in any of the subjects, as well as, Spanish classes.
We count on a successful “Buddy Program” for international students, which consist on a group of local students who gets into contact with the international student to help him/her to plan their trip to Temuco, look for a place to rent and accompany the student during his/her complete semester. Jointly with the student’s mobility office, the “Buddies “organize trips to national parks in order to promote the adaptation of international students to the city and the university.
