General Information

Host Institution

A doctoral-granting, comprehensive public institution in central Japan, Aichi Prefectural University (hereinafter APU) has two campuses in a quiet and greenery suburban area east of central Nagoya. Nagakute campus is uniquely located in the City of Nagakute, the former battlefield of Tokugawa Ieyasu and Hashiba (Toyotomi) Hideyoshi, leading feudal lords in the late 16th century and also the home of Toyota Motor Company. Moriyama campus is situated in a mountainous area within the boundary of Nagoya City. With its easy access to academic, cultural and industrial resources in both rural and urban areas, the University provides an ideal learning environment for students pursuing their undergraduate and postgraduate work, offering a broad range of study fields in arts and humanities, social science, information science and technology and health science at five undergraduate schools and four graduate schools on the two campuses. Together with Aichi University of the Arts, APU is under the “Aichi Public University Cooperation” system making this area an academic hub for students and faculty in and outside Japan.
