Host Institution

Chiang Mai University is the first provincial university founded in January 1964 as the first institution of higher education in Northern Thailand, and as the first provincial university in Thailand.

Ever since its founding, CMU is focused on comprehensive institution of higher learning while providing a broad range of academic programs. In the field of research, CMU has been launching innovative initiatives and development projects, the results of which are utilized to further advance the standards of teaching, learning and technology transfer, supporting the social and economic development of the region and the country as a whole.

This university is a place for knowledge collection, studies research and knowledge transfer according to academic freedom based on morality and academic excellence, application and transfer, and arts and culture development.

Graduates from Chiang Mai University will emphasis self-training in order to become knowledgeable, thoughtful and practical persons, as well as being able to manage themselves and other people, and work with ethics and social awareness.

Content The Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University is increasingly moving towards internationalisation through meaningful exchange not only through our lecturers and researchers but through our students as well. With the hope to further tighten the bonds with our partner institutions in a more profound manner, the Faculty has formalised two student mobility programmes:
With the same goal to facilitate the increased internationalisation of legal knowledge, Our Faculty of Law would like to extend our warm welcome to any inbound exchange students from overseas.

From 2020, Chiang Mai University academic calendar is as follow:

Instruction Facilities and Other Supports Faculty of Law manages several facilities and spaces throughout campus.
1. Legal Clinic: First, it is a trusted source of legal advice to the public where the legal advice is given under close supervision of the teachers. Second, the legal service is given free of charge. The law students play a major role in the legal service.
The involvement of the students in the legal service enables them to learn in practice ethical and legal skills. The technique, experience and knowledge gained from providing legal service are incorporated into the subject “Principle of Legal Profession”. Moreover, the Legal Clinic organizes many volunteer projects, for example, the Pro Bono project where the students go in to the community to provide legal knowledge and assistant.
2. Co-working space (both 1st floor and 2nd floor): available for all students with free WiFi around the campus.
3. Law Café: selling snack, drinks, coffee for all students and others visitor with reasonable price.

2.1 Radio Programme FM 100 which provides legal knowledge to public at large
2.2 Seminars involving interesting and current legal issues
2.3 Annual meeting of academic service provider networks which is organized to hold the discussions with government and private agencies
2.4 Collaboration with other non-university agencies in organizing useful projects for society.
Apart from the Faculty’s facilities, there is a CMU Central Library nearby the faculty. The recently developed CMU E-Library is a digital library facility providing staff and students with online access to 30 E-journal databases with more than 19,000 journal titles, 6 E-book databases with more than 16,000 book titles, and 8 general interest databases for access to E-news, Art Works, Music, etc.
In addition, CMU has developed a digital collections resource. Via CMU E-Thesis, E-Research and E-Term Papers databases, staff and students can contribute to and access information from an online network of 23 national university libraries. The Faculty offers free wireless access (Wi-Fi) to a current faculty staff and students in all public areas. Other services which are located around the faculty areas including computer room, coffee shops, food kiosks, canteen, banks and grocery stores. Moreover, all the staff and students can access to other university services such as the post office, fitness center, swimming pool, computer center and medical center. The university also operates the electric-powered vehicles which run on set routes around the campus.
