General Information

Host Institution

The Institute of Japanese Studies was founded in 2016. It is a structural part of the Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev, the leading pedagogical university of the Kyrgyz Republic, carrying out its educational activities since 1950, with a contingent of more than 12,000 students with high resource and scientific potential.

The Institute of Japanese Studies was established by decision of the Academic Council of the Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev in 2016 (order of the rector of KSU named after I. Arabaev from 2016).

The mission of Institute of Japanese Studies is to promote the strengthening and development of socio-economical cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan through the training of highly qualified staff with knowledge of Japanese.

The Institute implements a bachelor's program in the direction of “Hotel management” ("Technology and Organization of Hotel Services") and Regional Studies ("Japanese  Studies").

In 2018 the institute has a department of secondary vocational education on the direction of "Social Work".

The Institute has organized purposeful work on the implementation of contacts and effective cooperation with universities, training centers and enterprises in Japan.
