Host Institution

Tokai University is a private university established by Dr. Shigeyoshi Matsumae in1942 to nurture young people who can contribute to the world peace. Tokai University consists of 7 campuses in Sapporo, Takanawa, Yoyogi, Shonan, Isehara, Shimizu, and Kumamoto, which are composed of 19 undergraduate schools made up of 75 majors and 19 graduate schools. The total student population is about 30,000 and 1100 of those are international students. Tokai University has six offices abroad (Denmark, Vienna, Hawaii, Korea, Thailand and Vladivostok), and maintains academic exchange agreements with more than 125 universities/organizations in 39 countries.

Language Proficiency Requirements

Accept Native English
TOEFL iBT: 72 - 86, IELTS: 6 - 6.5 or
Japanese Language Proficiency Test: N1

In the case of those who have a Japanese ability equivalent to Japaense language Proficiency Test(JLPT) level 2(N2), English ability should be equivalent to TOFEL iBT score of 45. In the case of those who that cannot speak English, Japanese ability should be equivalent to JLPT level 1(N1).
