Host Institution
Shih Hsin University which is located in the capital city of Taiwan was founded in 1956 by the late, renowned journalist and publisher, Mr. She-Wo Chen. Originally an institution devoting itself to training professional journalists, Shih Hsin University became a full-fledged university in August 1997. Now with four colleges, including the College of Journalism and Communication, the College of Management, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the College of Law, and with an enrollment of around 10,000 students, 10% of them are international students. Shih Hsin University is the most famous university in Taiwan in the areas of Journalism and Mass Communication. We has been named one of the few “Teaching Excellence Universities” by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education for three years in a row. In 2019, SHU signed internship MOU with CNN news, SHU is the first university which have cooperation with CNN.

Within four colleges, SHU currently has 19 departments and 3 graduate institutes. 19 offer bachelor’s degrees, 17 offer master’s degrees, and 3 offer Ph.D. degrees. SHU provides students diverse and international learning environment. Now SHU has around 100 more sister schools all over the world with the cooperation of  student exchange, faculty exchange, and academic resource exchange.

Content Shih Hsin University was founded in 1956 as the World Vocational School of journalism by the late famous journalist and publisher She-Wo Cheng. Originally an institution devoted to training professional journalist, the school became full-fledged university in August 1997. Shih Hsin University is currently a boutique university with four colleges, including the College of Journalism and Communications, the College of Management, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Law, and with an enrollment of around 12000 students.

If students want to take Chinese-taught courses, they need to have at least HSK 4 or TOCFL A2 certificate.
