The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China in 2004 and is one of the overseas campuses of University of Nottingham UK. At UNNC we have more than 7,800 students and around 750 are from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas. We have more than 750 members of staff, split across academic and professional services from more than 40 countries. Our staff and students come from more than 70 countries and regions around the world. The University is situated in a 144 acre (584,666m²) campus in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. We have three faculties: Business, Science and Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences offering 31 undergraduate courses and 20 postgraduate courses. The University has 14 research centres and institutes. We were awarded a licence to grant PhDs in December 2008 and have around 300 PhD students.

Each year, around 1,500 graduates with excellent academic qualifications, transferable skills, a creative outlook and a fresh perspective. They are in demand from employers around the globe who recognise the benefits of hiring talent with an international perspective. At UNNC research spans all faculties and disciplines and we have several centres and institutes that are generating high-impact research. We're committed to providing world-leading research expertise that is relevant to China's interests and needs.

All of the teaching at UNNC is in English and is carried out by staff either seconded from University of Nottingham UK or appointed according to University of Nottingham’s standards.

UNNC offers a wide range of services to international students. These services include visas, insurance, pre-arrival advice, accommodation support, induction, monthly excursions and introductions to career advisory services and university life. International students are able to choose free Mandarin classes during their study at UNNC.

on-campus accommodation is guaranteed to all students, and halls of residence are situated on a convenient high street that has a range of shops, restaurants, an ATM and spaces for recreation. It also has a 24-hour medical centre with English-speaking staff, a post office and dry cleaners.

UNNC has various organizations and societies, including 20 service-oriented student organizations, many student innovation teams, and more than 70 societies in four major categories including academic, practical, liberal arts and sports. These student organizations and societies are committed to conducting a variety of extra-curricular activities, strengthening the communication between our university and local community, and sharing global education experience and achievements, promoting the integration of domestic and international students, and enhancing the communication between teachers and students.
